Candlebox

Banda post grunge de seattle formada en 1991, nunca se consideraron completamente una banda de la escena grunge, solo se veian como una banda de rock. Su primer disco, Lanzado en 1993, "Candlebox", el cual tiene canciones como "Far Behind", "You", "Change" entre otras, vendio 4 millones de copias. Despues de un exitoso debut (no por esto sus albumes posteriores dejan de ser buenos) , sus largas giras en las q demostraron mucha energia al tocar y de cambios de integrantes, la banda mantiene perfil bajo, hasta que en el 2006 se reunen, con los integrantes originales y juntos se embarcan en una gira por estados unidos (deberia haber gira latinoamericana xD) Lanzan el album "Best Of" y "Into The Sun", x ahora no consigo el best of, pero les dejo un album en vivo de 3 presentaciones x).

Banda Indie, Post Hardcore Proveniente de la escena de carolina del norte, tocaron en sus inicios un potente Post Hardcore a lo Fugazi y con un sonido un tanto semejante a lo Boy's Life, en cuanto refiere a estructuracion y melodias, pero poco a poco fueron adquieriendo un sonido distintivo del cual lo mas sobresaliente es el sonido de la guitarra del cual fue evolucionando hasta llegar en cierto punto a una complejidad ritmica caracterisco del Math Rock, en el 2006 sacaron el EP "Native Tongue" donde es muestra de la experimentacion de la banda a un sonido de dificil catalogacion, mas encasilla en indie pero este disco presenta pasajes sonoros parecidos al virtuosismo experimental del space rock.

Streetlight Manifesto

Banda skacore de New Jersey, formados por reconocidas figuras de la escena ska punk norteamericana, y dirigidos por el vocalista Tomas Kalnoky(tambien dirige Bandits of the acoustic revolution) , quien previamente estuvo en la banda ska punk Catch 22.
Streetlight Manifesto se caracteriza por ser una banda que hace un skacore muy acelerado y melodico, muy bien trabajado en cuanto a la seccion de vientos, tiene influencias ademas de folk, jazz y funk.

Christie Front Drive

Banda pilar del emo, indie que estallo a mediados de los 90's, ellos junto a Sunny Day Real Estate y Mineral fueron los mas grandes innovadores en el genero, ellos a comparacion de los otros mencionados trajeron las influencias del Post Hardcore y del rock Alternativo que junto a melodias muy bien trabajadas le dieron un nuevo sonido distintivo al emo, esto mas que todo se nota en su obra maestra "Christie Front Drive (Stereo)", donde son los Christie Front Drive al maximo, al finalizar el disco la diferencias musicales entre sus componentes y la perdida de inocencia de la musica emo por la que pasaba en esos tiempos, obligaron a la banda a retirarse de la musica, en el 2007 se reunieron para celebrar los 10 años de la salida del "Christie Front Drive (Stereo)".

Precursores del Skatecore, banda de Hardcore Punk formada en 1981, en momentos que se gestaba la cultura skateboarding californiana.
Tuvieron varios cambios de bajista y baterista durante su historia, pero siempre conservando al vocalista Brian Brannon y el guitarrista Pendetlon. Comenzaron tocando con bandas como D.O.A. y Black Flag, y lanzando varios 7" la mayoria de la mano de Placebo Records.

Empire State Games

Banda de emo e indie rock, nacida de los suburbios de Detroit a finales de los 90's, con un sonido clave muy orientado al pop tal como lo hacia The Promise Ring, con la fuerza de Texas Is The Reason y la vitalidad en su sonido que emula a knapsack, tremendas influencias, tremenda propuesta, tremendo disco. Lastima que la banda tuvo una corta existencia, creo que se separaron en el 2001, es por eso que la discografica en la que estaban saco la 1era larga duracion de la banda "Discography" que recopila lo que estuvieron haciendo durante esos años, sobresale el cover de The Cars "Just What I Need" y el single "The Wrong Way To Hold A Microphone".

Rites of Spring

Rites of Spring fue una banda hardcore punk formada en 1984 en Washington DC. Considerada como precursora del post hardcore y una de las primeras bandas emo, dejaron de lado temas sociales y politicos, y tomaron una postura mas personal y filosofica, a la cabeza de ellos estaba su vocalista Guy Picciotto cantando de forma mas caotica, energetica y lugubre, en cuanto al sonido era un tanto mas lento en comparacion a sus comtemporaneos.
Realizaron 15 presentaciones y tan solo llegaron a sacar un disco, al moverse en el circuito de Washigton tenian mucho contacto con Dischord Records.
Tras la disolucion de la banda el vocalista y el baterista se unen con Ian Mackaye (Minor Threat, Embrance) para formar Fugazi.

Los Difuntos

Los difuntos es una banda de Psychobilly y Punkabilly, rapidos y melodicos, nacen en el 2003 con Christian Torres, tres años mas tarde son fichados por Tim Amstrong (Rancid) y financia el primer EP: "Born, Raised and Passed Away", para despues presentar su disco "Born and Raised in east LA" en el 2008.
Recomendado para quienes gusten de Los Murcielagos o The Black Rose Phantoms.

Komety

Komety es una banda polaca con cerca de 5 años de de carrera, sus creaciones se muven dentro del psychobilly old school pero en cierta forma son rapidos. Debutaron en el 2003 con el album hominimo, haciendose conocidos gracias al single "Nuda, Nuda Nuda", para el 2005 lanzan "Via caliente" y al año siguiente la version de este disco en ingles, desapues aparece "Komety 2004-2006" y "Akcja v1" este ultimo tiene tambien dos versiones, una en polaco y otra en ingles.
